Globalization is a key factor affecting the transformation of local communities. This course will introduce students to theories of globalization, its social, political and economic dimensions, its impact on people and communities, and local responses to globalization. Students will investigate what significance the globalization of human activity has for human communities, as well as the social issues and problems that are the focus of their own program of study.
